Care Instructions

Vacuum regularly and thoroughly: 

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges/bindings or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay: 

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

Shedding: 

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there is no guarantee that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush head retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug: 

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear and tear.

Stains: 

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• For dry stains, gently scrape from the edges towards the centre using a blunt edge. Then, dampen an uncoloured cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. Foam the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be handled by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase chances of fibre cleanliness.

Professional rug cleaning: 

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information: 

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour fade.
