Care Instructions

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor under the rug regularly. Never use the brush unfolded when vacuuming and adjust the strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/selvedge or fringe of the rug as it may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for grip and to protect the floor.

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

• Wool rugs shed, especially wool rugs with pile. This is entirely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a folded brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear.

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fibre's edge, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a moist uncoloured cloth and mild soap or unscented mild soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional and preferably soon after the stain occurs as it increases the chances of cleaning the fibre.

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine washed or dry cleaned.

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. The odour dissipates faster if you air or vacuum the rug.
