The story behind Herstal
The year was 1987 and Martin Herstal and his wife Lotte were in their 20s when they moved to Odense in Denmark. There, the couple took over a small lamp shop where they sold lamps that not only provided light but were also beautiful to look at. Their dream was to design their own lamps, and eventually their dream became a reality. The self-designed lamps came out in the late 80s and the Herstal Brands was born. The goal was to combine playful and energetic design with thoughtful lighting in each lamp, which they have certainly succeeded in doing!
