Care instructions

Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the edges or fringes of the rug as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay:

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for grip and floor protection.

Brushing shaggy rugs:

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain their appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb for this purpose.

Shedding:

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush head retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug:

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to ensure even exposure and wear.

Stains:

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• For dry stains, gently scrape the fibres from the edges towards the centre. Dampen an uncoloured cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. Create a lather with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may become harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibres effectively.

Professional rug cleaning:

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information:

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear sooner.

Classic Collection products are handmade and therefore entirely unique. This means that variations in pattern, colour, and size may occur. These differences create a vibrant and unique product.
