Stormi is made of a blend of wool and bamboo silk, which creates a rug that is both soft and durable. The rug is woven in India. Its smooth surface makes it suitable for any room in the house – place it under the dining table, by the sofa group, or why not in the bedroom? Due to its irregular shape, you can easily change both the feel and look of a room just by rotating the rug!

Care Instructions for the Stormi Rug

Shedding – a natural part of wool
Stormi is made of a blend of wool and bamboo silk where the natural properties of wool can cause shedding, especially in the beginning. This is completely normal and usually diminishes over time. To reduce the amount of loose fibers, you can shake the rug before use.

Dealing with spills and stains
If liquid spills on the rug, it is important to act quickly. Use a spoon to gently scoop up the liquid and then blot up the remaining with paper towels, a dry cloth, or sponge. Do not rub, as it can damage the fibers. Avoid using detergent or soap as they dissolve the natural oils in wool and can make stains harder to remove.

Cleaning and vacuuming
To preserve the appearance and lifespan of the rug, it should be regularly vacuumed. Use a nozzle without brushes and vacuum only with the pile to protect the surface. Remember to vacuum both the top and the floor under the rug. The underside of the rug should also be vacuumed at least once a year. Avoid using robot vacuums as they can wear out the edges of the rug.

Protection against sun fading
Direct sunlight can fade the rug's colour over time. To maintain an even surface and avoid uneven fading, it is recommended to rotate the rug regularly.

Anti-slip protection and underlay
To reduce wear and extend the rug's lifespan, it is good to use a rug underlay. The underlay can be adjusted in size to fit the rug's shape and provides increased comfort and floor protection.

Professional cleaning
For a thorough cleaning, professional rug cleaning is recommended. This way, both the material and structure are preserved in the best way.

 

The Stormi rug is designed for indoor environments with a consistent temperature around 20–21 degrees. In these conditions, the material maintains its shape and structure best. In warmer indoor climates, such as around 23–24 degrees, it is good to know that the material reacts differently depending on the temperature. A consistent temperature helps the rug stay beautiful over time.

About Shedding: Wool rugs shed, especially wool rugs with pile. This is completely normal and one of the fibre's characteristics. Shedding can sometimes be most intense when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a nozzle attachment to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to remove excess wool.
