Care Instructions

Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge/binding or fringe as it may cause damage. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay:

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

Shedding:

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is entirely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most noticeable when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a flat brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug:

• Regularly rotate the rug in the room to expose it evenly to wear and tear.

Stains:

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Foam the solution with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional as soon as possible after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre.

Professional rug cleaning:

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information:

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilate or vacuum the rug to speed up the process.
