Care Instructions

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor under the rug regularly. Never use the brush extended when vacuuming and adjust the strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/selvedge or fringe of the rug as it may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for grip and to protect the floor.

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

• Wool rugs pill, especially wool rugs with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be most intense when the rug is brand new. However, there is no guarantee that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a retracted brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear.

• Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's texture, scraping from the edges of the stain towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water to an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Moisten the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or detergent. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Do not use strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional, preferably soon after the stain occurs, as it increases the chances of cleaning the fibre effectively.

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will dissipate faster if you air or vacuum the rug.
