Soho is a white, hand-woven pile rug in wool from Classic Collection. The rug features a stylish zigzag pattern that has been cut out in the thick pile, giving Soho a lovely texture and volume.
There are many benefits to choosing a wool rug. They are naturally dirt-repellent, extremely durable, and have a long lifespan if the rug is cared for properly.
Please note that shedding is a normal behaviour for this type of rug and usually calms down over time. This is also a characteristic of all finer wool rugs. It is good to know that pilling/shedding rugs are not a manufacturing defect, but characteristic of this type of manufacturing technique and material. It also depends largely on usage and maintenance.
Classic Collection's products are handmade and therefore completely unique. This means that deviations in pattern, colour, and size may occur. These deviations create a lively and unique product. Take good care of your new rug and it will adorn your home for a long time.
Care instructions:
- Vacuum the rug regularly, but do so without a brush. Vacuum on both sides.
- To reduce wear on both the rug and the floor, use a rug underlay. These can be found among the optional extras.
- Avoid dragging furniture back and forth over the rug. Use furniture pads/wheel protectors under sofa legs and table legs.
- Pilling may occur where the rug is subjected to heavy traffic, movement of furniture, vacuum cleaner nozzle with a brush, or other stressful handling. Vacuum your rug before removing pills, use a lint shaver or scissors. Be careful to only remove the fluff and not damage the rug deeply. Finish by vacuuming the rug in the direction of the pile.
- Do not expose the rug to direct sunlight.
- Always remove stains immediately when they occur. Minor stains can usually be removed with a light, clean & damp cloth and soap or detergent. Lather the product with lukewarm water before applying. Then gently wipe off the stain. It is important not to "rub".
- Always take your rug to a professional cleaner for proper flat washing. After washing, the rug may in some cases become "bubbly," this usually disappears after use.
- Avoid dry cleaning as much as possible as the chemicals can dry out the fibres.
- Rotate the rug regularly for even wear.
- Shedding is a normal behaviour for this type of rug that usually decreases over time, however, note that the rug will likely always shed to some extent. Shedding rugs are not a manufacturing defect, but characteristic of this type of manufacturing technique and material.- Rotate the rug regularly for even wear.
