The Poppy Coffee Table is part of the Sleepo Collection, an exclusive collection of carefully selected furniture designed to give your home a sleek and timeless feel. With its distinctive design and solid construction, this coffee table becomes a natural focal point in the living room – a piece of furniture that combines modern elegance with functional durability.
Robust form with a sleek silhouette
The square coffee table is designed as a whole, cohesive unit with straight corners and a solid tabletop. The table rests on a slightly smaller rectangular base, creating a sculptural and balanced feel. The robust construction provides an exclusive and sophisticated look that suits both minimalist and luxurious interior styles.
Poplar – an elegant and sustainable material
The Poppy Coffee Table is made of MDF with a surface layer of brown-stained poplar veneer, a material that combines durability with a beautiful, natural wood grain. Poplar wood is known for its light but strong quality, making the table both stable and easy to handle. Its unique grain and brown-stained finish provide a warm and inviting feel that blends into various environments.
A timeless piece of furniture to enjoy for many years
With its thoughtful design and durable materials, the Poppy Coffee Table is an investment for your home. Its generous size of 90x90 cm makes it perfect for gathering family and friends, and the ample tabletop offers plenty of space for both practical use and decorative elements.
Brown-stained wild poplar – Unique character in every piece
This is genuine, natural Wild Poplar – a living material that carries traces of its growth location and history. Here, you may experience knots, minor variations, and surface irregularities that are not filled with putty, allowing the wood's natural character to shine through. Larger variations and knots are filled to provide a functional surface, but without compromising the wood's authentic expression.
These natural variations are not defects – on the contrary, they are evidence of the material's authenticity and part of its unique charm. Each surface tells its own story and contributes to the lively, organic impression that only real wood can provide.
Daily cleaning
Wipe the table surface with a soft, dry, or lightly damp microfiber cloth. For light dirt, use lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral dish soap. Always dry with a cloth to prevent water spots or water from seeping into joints.
For tougher stains
Use a solution of lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid strong chemicals like ammonia, alcohol, acetone, bleach, or abrasives, as these can dissolve or damage the finish.
Protection and prevention
Use coasters for glass, copper, vases, and hot items to protect the surface. Furniture pads under objects prevent scratches. Avoid direct sunlight, as UV radiation can fade the wood and dry out the finish over time. Do not place the table near heaters or other heat sources, as this can cause the finish to crack. Maintain a stable room humidity, around 40–60%, to minimise the risk of cracks or swelling.
Polishing and maintenance
Lacquered furniture does not need oiling, as the lacquer provides a protective layer. To refresh the shine, use a furniture polish suitable for lacquered surfaces. Choose a polish without silicone or wax if you plan to refinish in the future. Minor surface scratches can sometimes be masked with polish or gently polished with a very fine polishing cloth.
To avoid
Never leave wet cloths, pots, or other damp items directly on the surface, as this can cause water rings. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or sponges with abrasive surfaces that can scratch the finish. Avoid placing very heavy items directly on thin parts of the table, as point loads can cause cracks in the lacquer surface.
