Larger variations and knots are filled to provide a functional surface, yet without compromising the authentic expression.
These natural variations are not defects – on the contrary, they are evidence of the material's authenticity and part of its unique charm. Each surface tells its own story and contributes to the lively, organic impression that only real wood can provide. The colour may vary from natural oak to white-oiled oak.

Daily cleaning
Wipe the table surface with a soft, dry, or lightly damp microfibre cloth. For light dirt, lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral dish soap can be used. Always dry afterwards with a cloth to prevent water stains or seepage at joints.

For tougher stains
Use a solution of lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid strong chemicals like ammonia, alcohol, acetone, bleach, or abrasives as they can dissolve or damage the finish.

Protection and prevention
Use coasters for glass, copper, vases, and hot items to protect the surface. Furniture pads under objects prevent scratches. Avoid direct sunlight as UV rays can fade the wood and dry out the finish over time. Do not place the table near heaters or other heat sources as this can cause the finish to crack. Maintain a stable room humidity of around 40–60% to minimise the risk of cracks or swelling.

Polishing and maintenance
Lacquered furniture does not need oiling as the lacquer provides a protective layer. To refresh the shine, you can use a furniture polish suitable for lacquered surfaces. Choose a polish without silicone or wax if you plan to refinish in the future. Minor surface scratches can sometimes be concealed with polish or gently buffed with a very fine polishing cloth.

Avoid
Never leave wet cloths, pots, or other damp items directly on the surface as this can cause water rings. Avoid using steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive sponges that can scratch the finish. Do not place very heavy objects directly on thin parts of the table as point loading can cause cracks in the lacquer surface.
