Topaz Wool/Viscose Rug Ivory 170x230

Topaz is a hand-tufted rug made of a blend of wool and viscose. The rug is primarily made of wool with a smaller, glossy part made of viscose. The fields in the rug are in various tufting techniques that give multiple textures to the rug. Where the fields meet, they are hand-clipped as a framing to the different textures.

Care Instructions

Vacuum often and thoroughly:

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge/bindings or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay:

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

Shedding:

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be more noticeable when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug:

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear.

Stains:

• Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs as it increases the chances of cleaning the fibre effectively.

Rug cleaning by professionals:

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information:

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear faster.
