Sumo celebrates the human body. As a reference to the Japanese sport Sumo, all vases are large and voluminous in size and form, resting on slender pointed legs. Each vase features different openings, from traditionally narrow vase openings to double openings and deeply cut openings. The Sumo collection explores the contrast between familiar vase shapes and the addition of more artistic, abstract ideas and details, challenging our individual perceptions of vase form.
The Sumo collection is designed as a standalone artistic object but forms a cohesive family of objects when gathered together.
As it is a hand-glazed natural product, colours may vary slightly, and as it is not 100% watertight, a container for fresh flowers is included.
