Sumo celebrates the human body. Referencing the Japanese sport of Sumo, all vases are large and voluminous in size and shape, resting on narrow, pointed legs. Each vase features different openings, from traditionally narrow vase openings to double openings and deeply cut openings. The Sumo collection explores the contrast between familiar vase forms and the addition of more artistic, abstract ideas and details, challenging our individual perceptions of vase shape.
Designed as standalone artistic objects, the Sumo collection forms a cohesive family of objects when gathered together.
As a hand-glazed natural product, colours may vary slightly, and as it is not 100% waterproof, a container for fresh flowers is included.
