Care Instructions - Tatami
Tatami material must be kept dry to avoid moisture and mould. We recommend cleaning your tatami mattress only with a light, damp cloth and avoiding the use of harsh cleaning solutions. You can vacuum in the direction of the weave. Vacuuming against the weave may damage the material or cause dirt to penetrate. Make sure to choose the lowest setting when using a vacuum cleaner.

Tatami mattresses are sensitive to moisture, so avoid leaving rugs or other covers on top of a tatami mattress as it creates a damp environment that promotes mould. We recommend cleaning and airing out the tatami mattress regularly. Dry and sunny days are best for airing out tatami mattresses.
