Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor beneath it regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges/bindings or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Pilling:Â
- Wool rugs may pill, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be more noticeable when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush head retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- For dry stains, gently scrape off from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre effectively.
Professional rug cleaning:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection's rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug helps the odour disappear more quickly.
