Care Instructions

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the extended brush when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/selvedge or fringe of the rug as it may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for grip and to protect the floor.

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a beater bar attachment to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear.

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap or colourless mild detergent. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre effectively.

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will dissipate faster if you air out or vacuum the rug.
