A thick and lovely, handwoven wool runner. A dirt-repellent wool rug that is reversible and therefore suitable as a hallway rug, a kitchen rug, or a cosy bed rug.

The natural oils of the wool make the rug resistant to dirt and stains in an effective way. Any dirt will settle on the surface and can be easily removed by vacuuming or airing.

This rug is certified by Care & Fair, an organization that works to provide workers with good working conditions, education, and fair wages. It also means that Classic Collection donates money to the families in the rug weaving districts. The money goes to the children, enabling them to attend school regularly and access healthcare.

Care Instructions

Vacuum frequently and thoroughly: 

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction power of your vacuum cleaner. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge/binding or fringe as it may cause damage. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug Underlay: 

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

Brush the shaggy rug: 

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

Pilling: 

• Wool rugs may pill, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be most noticeable when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush head retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug: 

• Regularly rotate the rug in the room to expose it evenly to wear and tear.

Stains: 

• Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water on an unfurnished cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a damp unfurnished cloth and mild soap or colourless mild soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tougher stains should be treated by a professional and preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre.

Professional rug cleaning: 

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional Information: 

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Airing or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear more quickly.
