Outside Emmaboda in Småland, Skruf Glasbruk is owned and operated by the Elm family. All products in the range are hand-blown and made in the glassworks in Skruv. The history ofSkufs

The story behind the Brands began back in 1897 in the small community of Skruv. Just one year later, a glassworks was built in the town. The founder of the Brands, Robert Celander, had carefully planned the location as he wanted to take advantage of the railway that had been built just a few years earlier. That way, they could easily transport the heavy sand needed to make all the glass. And it would be just as easy to transport the finished glass. There was also a lot of forest in the area, which made it easy to collect wood for the glass furnaces.

Today, SkrufsGlasbruk is owned and run by the Elm family from Skruv. A place where the whole family works.

Famous designers

During the years that Skufs Glasbruk has been selling its handmade products, several famous designers have been involved in the design of both vases and candle lanterns that have become immensely popular. Among them is Carina Seth Andersson, who graduated from Konstfack MFA in 1993 and has since then run her own artistic business. Carina Seth Andersson has designed the famous vase Ponny exclusively for Save the Children. Ponny is a clear glass carafe/vase that, as Carina herself describes, is just as suitable for juice as for twigs and cut flowers. Ponny is signed at the bottom and has a transparent Save the Children label at the bottom.

The Småland craftsmen have several popular products that we see around homes throughout the Nordic region. The Kolonn vase quickly became a favourite, also designed by Carina Seth Andersson. The vase comes in three sizes, Kolonn vase 11 cm, Kolonn vase 20 cm and Kolonn vase 30 cm. With a completely unique pattern on each vase, it becomes a stylish detail in the home that never goes out of style.

The Pallo Vase is also designed by Carina Seth Andersson and is a fantastic vase in its simplicity. Pallo comes in three different sizes and is available in the colours Pallo Vase Clear Glass and Pallo Vase Black.
