Pattern Unikko, Design Maija Isola 1964
Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mostly consisted of abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting based on this ecological theme and designed a whole series of flower patterns. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
