Marimekko's famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mostly consisted of abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting based on this botanical theme and designed a whole range of floral patterns. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
