Care Instructions - Tatami
Tatami material must be kept dry to prevent moisture and mould. We recommend wiping your tatami mattress only with a gentle, damp cloth and avoiding the use of harsh cleaning solutions. You can vacuum in the direction of the weave. Vacuuming against the weave may damage the material or cause dirt to seep in. Make sure to select the lowest setting when using a vacuum cleaner.

Tatami mattresses are sensitive to moisture, so avoid leaving rugs or other coverings on top of a tatami mattress as it creates a damp environment that promotes mould. We recommend cleaning and airing the tatami mattress regularly. Dry and sunny days are best for airing tatami mattresses.
