Oxidation is a chemical process that starts slowly as soon as the product comes into contact with oxygen. After the candle holder has been manufactured and carefully packaged, it will naturally be exposed to oxygen. Therefore, the candlestick may already have traces of oxidation when brand new.

If you get stains from candles or prefer your brass candlestick to remain shiny, follow these steps:

1. Remove candle wax and oxidation by placing the candle holder in warm water (not boiling).

2. Add citric acid (2 tablespoons to 1 litre) and a drop of dish soap and stir.

3. Place the candlestick in the bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

4. Thoroughly dry off with a soft cloth.

5. Use brass polish to remove any small oxidation spots and restore the shiny look.
