A thick and lovely, handwoven wool runner. A dirt-repellent wool rug that is reversible and therefore suitable as a hallway rug, a kitchen rug, or a cosy bed rug.

The natural oils in the wool make the rug resistant to dirt and stains in an efficient way. Any dirt will sit on the surface and can be easily removed by vacuuming or airing.

This rug is certified by Care & Fair, an organisation that works to provide workers with good working conditions, education, and fair wages. It also means that Classic Collection donates money to families in rug-weaving districts. The money goes to the children, enabling regular schooling and healthcare.

Care Instructions

Vacuum often and thoroughly: 

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment while vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/bindings or fringes of the rug as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay: 

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

Brush the shaggy rug: 

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

Shedding: 

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a flat brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug: 

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear and tear.

Stains: 

• Always remove minor stains promptly. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. Foam up the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for home stain treatment. Tough stains should be handled by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre effectively.

Professional rug cleaning: 

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information: 

• All new rugs have a distinctive odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear more quickly.
