Alex Gabriel's ceramic lighting collection for Serax combines a sleek design language with an earthy and tactile material feel. The starting point for the collection is two simple geometric shapes - the cylinder and the disc - which have been developed into the lamps NASH, MAIA, RANA, NOVA, ROMÉ, and FOU.

The design language draws inspiration from modernist architecture and gives the lamps a sculptural yet stripped-down expression. The rough chamotte clay plays a significant role in the design and adds a clear structure that makes each lamp interesting even when it's not lit.

When the lamps are lit, the light subtly filters through the construction while a soft ambient light falls over the textured ceramics. The light highlights the material's surface and enhances the interplay between the geometric shape and the tactile clay.
