Care Instructions

Vacuum often and thoroughly: 

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor under the rug regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Never vacuum the edge/bindings or fringes of the rug as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay: 

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for grip and floor protection.

Brushing the shaggy rug: 

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

Shedding: 

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush head retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug: 

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it to even wear.

Stains: 

• Always remove minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, use lukewarm water on an unfurnished cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a moist unfurnished cloth and mild soap or soap. Foam up the product with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tougher stains should be treated by a professional as soon as possible after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre.

Professional rug cleaning: 

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Other information: 

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will disappear faster if you air out or vacuum the rug.
