The Chunky Side Table from the Sleepo Collection is a piece of furniture that combines powerful design with sustainable materials, becoming a clear focal point in the living room. The table's substantial, cube-shaped silhouette creates a stable and balanced feeling, while its straight lines provide a modern and sleek expression.
Solid construction with modern proportions
The table has a sturdy and robust design that exudes stability and quality. The strong legs enhance the table's solid feel, while the straight lines offer a sleek unity suitable for both modern and classic environments.
Brown-stained wild poplar – Unique character in each piece
This is genuine, natural Wild Poplar – a living material that carries traces of its growing place and history. Here, you can experience knots, minor variations, and surface irregularities that are not concealed with putty but are left to enhance the wood's natural character. Larger variations and knots are filled to provide a functional surface, yet without removing the genuine expression.
These natural variations are not defects – on the contrary, they are proof of the material's authenticity and part of its unique charm. Each surface tells its own story and contributes to the lively, organic impression that only real wood can provide.
Suitable for various environments
A smaller side table measuring 40x40x40 cm becomes a decorative element in larger lounge settings. The table is easy to combine with other pieces from the Sleepo Collection to create a cohesive and well-thought-out interior.
Daily cleaning
Wipe the table's surface with a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth. For light dirt, lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral hand dishwashing detergent can be used. Always dry with a dry cloth to avoid moisture marks or water seeping in at joints.
For tougher stains
Use a solution of lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid strong chemicals such as ammonia, alcohol, acetone, bleach, or abrasive cleaners as these can dissolve or damage the finish.
Protection and prevention
Use coasters for glasses, cups, vases, and hot objects to protect the surface. Furniture pads under objects prevent scratches. Avoid direct sunlight as UV radiation can bleach the wood and dry out the finish over time. Do not place the table near heaters or other heat sources as this can cause the finish to crack. Maintain a stable room humidity, around 40–60%, to minimise the risk of cracks or swelling.
Polishing and maintenance
Lacquered furniture does not need oiling as the lacquer provides a protective layer. To refresh the shine, you can use a furniture polish suitable for lacquered surfaces. Choose a polish without silicone or wax if you intend to refinish in the future. Minor surface scratches can sometimes be diminished with polish or gently buffed with a very fine polishing cloth.
Avoid
Never leave wet cloths, pots, or other moist objects directly on the surface as this can cause water rings. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or sponges with abrasive surfaces that can scratch the finish. Avoid placing very heavy objects directly on thin parts of the table as point loading can cause cracks in the lacquer surface.
