Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges/bindings or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined backing that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Pilling:Â
- Wool rugs, especially those with pile, may pill. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be most noticeable when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a folded brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains immediately as they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- For dry stains, gently scrape the fibres using the edge of a spoon, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a moist uncoloured cloth and mild soap or soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be handled by a professional, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre thoroughly.
Rug cleaning by a professional:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear.
