Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:
- The rug has an unlined backing that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for grip and floor protection.
Brush the shaggy rug:
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain fibre appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Shedding:
- Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there is no guarantee that shedding will reduce over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:
- Always address minor stains promptly. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- For dry stains, gently scrape from the stain's edges towards the centre. Dampen an uncoloured cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Work the soap into a lather with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may become harder to remove. Blot the area to absorb the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for home stain treatments. Tough stains should be handled by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to improve fibre cleaning chances.
Rug cleaning by professionals:
- Always take your rug to a reputable cleaner for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear.
