Care Instructions

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush unfolded when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Avoid vacuuming the edge/binding or fringe of the rug as it may cause damage. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.

• Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.

• Wool rugs may pill, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be most intense when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a folded brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

• Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose and wear it evenly.

• Always remove simple stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the edge towards the centre of the stain. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and soap or mild detergent. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Do not use strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tougher stains should be treated by a professional, preferably shortly after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre thoroughly.

• Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will disappear faster if you air out or vacuum the rug.
