Care Instructions
Vacuum often and thoroughly:
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor under the rug regularly. Never use the brush unfolded when vacuuming, and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/binding or fringe of the rug as it may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Shedding:
- Wool rugs shed, especially pile wool rugs. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a folded brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose and wear it evenly.
Stains:
- Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Wet stains should be blotted with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's pile, scraping from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, apply lukewarm water to an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or detergent. Foam up the agent with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Do not use strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional and preferably soon after the stain occurs as it increases the chances of cleaning the fibre.
Rug cleaning by a professional:
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. The odour dissipates faster if you air or vacuum the rug.
