Care Instructions
Vacuum frequently and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor beneath it regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges or fringe as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Pilling:Â
- Wool rugs may pill, especially those with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Pilling may be most noticeable when the rug is new. However, there is no guarantee that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Regularly rotate the rug in the room to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains immediately as they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Moisten the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or detergent. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre.
Rug cleaning by a professional:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional Information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will disappear faster if you air out or vacuum the rug.
