Karup Designs Sandwich futon is a 16 cm thick cotton mattress with a core of latex foam and a coconut fiber panel. By applying 5-10% polyester to the cotton, Karup Designs futon beds ensure higher density and thickness compared to traditional Japanese futon beds. However, it still inherits all the good qualities of a traditional Japanese futon. The Sandwich futon provides you with a medium-soft sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon will adapt to your body, the coconut panel will support it, and the soft latex foam in the core will isolate small movements.

Materials
  • Cotton: Due to the qualities of cotton, it has been used in futon mattresses since ancient times. It adapts to the body's contours and supports it along its entire length. Cotton absorbs moisture produced during the night, and during the day, air can circulate and evaporate the moisture. The cotton in Karup Designs futon mattresses is a completely natural material.
  • Coconut: Coconut panels are used to create firmer futon mattresses. The panels are made of soft coconut fibers combined with latex. Their structure allows air to pass through easily, meaning the mattress is constantly ventilated. Coconut fibers are a hard material resistant to moisture - they do not absorb water.
  • Latex Foam: The raw materials used in latex production are the milk obtained from rubber trees. Thanks to its elasticity and softness, it adapts to the body, and its structure allows the mattress to be continuously ventilated. The material has many advantages: it is dust-free, hygienic, very ergonomic, heat-insulating, breathable, long-lasting, and durable.
Care Instructions
  • Be aware that a Futon mattress requires a little extra care compared to other mattresses.
  • We recommend using a mattress protector and sheets to cover your mattress to keep it tidy.
  • The mattress is not water-resistant.
  • Use a dry cloth to wipe the mattress if needed.
  • It is important to turn the mattress occasionally to let the material "breathe".
