Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Shedding:
- Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:
- Regularly rotate the rug in the room to expose it evenly to wear.
Stains:
- Always remove simple stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the edges towards the centre of the stain. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and gall soap or mild soap. Foam the solution with lukewarm water before applying it. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of fibre cleanliness.
Professional rug cleaning:
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear faster.
