Care Instructions

Vacuum often and thoroughly: 

• Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction power. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge or fringe as it may damage them. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.

Rug underlay: 

• The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for grip and floor protection.

Shedding: 

• Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most significant when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.

Rotate the rug: 

• Regularly rotate the rug in the room to ensure even exposure and wear.

Stains: 

• Always address minor stains promptly. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
• For dry stains, gently scrape from the edges towards the centre. Then, dampen a clean, colourless cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain, as it may make it harder to remove. Blot the area and repeat until the stain is gone.
• Avoid using strong chemicals for home stain treatment. Tough stains should be handled by professionals, ideally soon after they occur to increase the chances of successful fibre cleaning.

Professional rug cleaning: 

• Always take your rug to a reputable cleaner for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.

Additional information: 

• All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug can help the odour fade faster.
