Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edges or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for grip and floor protection.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed brush.
Shedding:Â
- Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a natural characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be more noticeable when the rug is new. However, there is no guarantee that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:Â
- Deal with minor stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- For dry stains, gently scrape from the edges towards the centre. Dampen a clean cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Apply the solution to the stain without rubbing. Blot the area until the stain is removed.
- Avoid using strong chemicals at home. For tough stains, seek professional treatment promptly for better chances of stain removal.
Professional rug cleaning:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable cleaner for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Additional information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug can help speed up this process.
