Care Instructions
Vacuum often and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge/binding or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Shedding:Â
- Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with the brush retracted to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear and tear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains promptly. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for stain treatment at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional, preferably soon after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fibre thoroughly.
Professional rug cleaning:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Other information:Â
- All new rugs have a unique smell that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug will help the odour disappear more quickly.
