Care Instructions
Vacuum often and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum cleaner. Never vacuum the edge/edge or fringe of the rug as it may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery against the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Pilling:Â
- Wool rugs pill, especially wool rugs with pile. This is entirely normal and a property of the fibre. Pilling may be most noticeable when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that pilling will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a retracted brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it and wear it evenly.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Wet stains should be blotted with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fibre's tip, scraping from the edges of the stain towards the centre. Then, apply lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Moisten the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or unscented mild soap. Lather the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Do not use strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tougher stains should be treated by a professional and preferably soon after the stain occurs, as it increases the chances of cleaning the fibre thoroughly.
Rug cleaning by a professional:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collections rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Other information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will dissipate faster if you air or vacuum the rug.
