Care Instructions
Vacuum often and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush attachment when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength. Avoid vacuuming the rug's edge/binding or fringes as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug pad:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery on the floor. We recommend using rug pads for grip and floor protection.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need regular brushing to maintain the fibre's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Shedding:Â
- Wool rugs shed, especially those with pile. This is normal and a characteristic of the fibre. Shedding may be more noticeable when the rug is new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a flat brush head to remove excess fibres from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Regularly rotate the rug in the room to ensure even exposure and wear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove simple stains immediately. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- For dry stains, gently scrape from the edges towards the centre. Dampen an uncoloured cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap. Foam up the solution with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Avoid using strong chemicals for home stain treatment. Tough stains should be handled by professionals, preferably soon after the stain occurs to improve fibre cleanliness.
Professional rug cleaning:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable cleaner for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Other information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that dissipates over time. Ventilating or vacuuming the rug can help the odour disappear faster.
