Care Instructions
Vacuum regularly and thoroughly:Â
- Vacuum the rug on both sides and the floor underneath regularly. Never use the brush rolled out when vacuuming and adjust the suction strength of your vacuum. Never vacuum the edge/selvedge or fringes of the rug as they may get damaged. Rugs with pile should be vacuumed in the direction of the pile.
Rug underlay:Â
- The rug has an unlined back that may be slippery against the floor. Therefore, we recommend using rug underlay for anti-slip protection and to protect the floor.
Brush the shaggy rug:Â
- Rugs with long pile need to be brushed regularly to maintain the fiber's appearance. Use a wide-toothed comb.
Shedding:Â
- Wool rugs shed, especially wool rugs with pile. This is completely normal and a characteristic of the fiber. Shedding may be most intense when the rug is brand new. However, there are no guarantees that shedding will decrease over time. Vacuum the rug regularly with a retracted brush head to remove excess fibers from production. We also recommend shaking the rug before use to fluff up the pile and remove excess wool.
Rotate the rug:Â
- Rotate the rug in the room regularly to expose it evenly to wear and tear.
Stains:Â
- Always remove minor stains immediately when they occur. Blot wet stains with dry paper towels.
- Dry stains should be gently scraped off from the fiber's surface, scraping from the edges of the stain towards the centre. Then, take lukewarm water on an uncoloured cloth or sponge. Dampen the stain with a damp uncoloured cloth and mild soap or detergent. Foam the agent with lukewarm water before applying. Do not rub the stain as it may make it harder to remove. Blot up the liquid and repeat until the stain is gone.
- Do not use strong chemicals for treating stains at home. Tough stains should be treated by a professional and preferably shortly after the stain occurs to increase the chances of cleaning the fiber.
Rug cleaning by a professional:Â
- Always take your rug to a reputable laundry for professional flat washing. Classic Collection rugs should not be machine or dry cleaned.
Other information:Â
- All new rugs have a distinct odour that will dissipate over time. The odour will dissipate faster if you air out or vacuum the rug.
